Ben Kohler, drummer of STREET WEAPON, unveils his brutal new solo project under the name of DEFICIT. This demo is an absolute ripper! How I went this long without knowing Ben played other instruments aside from drums is mind-boggling. Heavy NEGATIVE APPROACH nods here with a beautifully blown out and raw production that still maintains plenty of power and punch. Some 00’s vibes in the vein of groups such as URBAN BLIGHT and NIGHTSTICK JUSTICE also creep their way into the mix. Ben has already confirmed he’s assembling members to perform this brutal assault live. They are at the top of my list of live acts to see post pandemic. Should probably be yours too!!!
